The year is quickly coming to an end, and 2017 is about to start. There is always something so magical about the start of a new year. Realistically, it’s just another day on the calendar, and yet so many of us feel a renewed and refreshed sense of commitment and inspiration towards our goals for the coming year.
In preparation for 2017 I have begun to set up my Bullet Journal for the new year. I’ve stuck with the Leuchtturm 1917 A5 Dotted Notebook, this year I’ve opted for a fun emerald colour. I’ve paired it with a cheap notebook cover I got from Indigo for $9. I love the way these two things go together, super cute!
I’ve started off this year with my 2017 yearly overview. Realistically this notebook will only last me 4-6 months, max. But I still like to have a year at a glance to refer back to throughout the year. I’ve also tried to use up a bunch of stickers I had left over from an old Erin Condren notebook.
Next up I have a spread dedicated to important dates, such as birthdays and anniversaries. Then I have a title/welcome page for 2017 with the word ‘Slay’ as my word of the year. It may sound cliché, but I’m dedicated to making 2017 my best year yet. A year where I just kill every goal I set for myself. Granted….that may be how I feel at the start of every year….but that’s not the point, lol.
Next up I have my monthly financial review spreads. This is where I will track my savings progress, monthly cashflow and debt pay off. We are aiming to be 100% debt free before the end of 2017, and I’m really excited to see it come to fruition.
Now we get into my book list and affirmations pages. I am huge into reading personal development books, and I like to keep track of what I’ve read throughout the year. Most of these books I’ll be reading for a 2nd or 3rd time now (they’re that good) and I highly recommend them.
Affirmations are something I try to do everyday. I think the power self-talk is hugely underrated and I have certainly been guilty of negative self-talk. The way I speak to myself is something I’m always wanting to improve. A big part of that journey is speaking positive affirmations on a daily basis. This year I have many new affirmations, and I like that I will be able to keep adding to this page throughout the year.
A yearly bill tracker!! Finally. Okay, well not the whole year, but for the six months I plan on using this Bullet Journal. I’ve been meaning to put a bill tracker in my Bujo for so long now, and I keep forgetting!
My Level 10 Life spread has become far more watered down. In hindsight I wish I had included a two page spread for this, where I could write in detail what each category means to me. Oh well, live and learn, right? I’ve seem some people track their level 10 life goals on a month-to-month basis, and I thought it was brilliant. That’s something I would like to incorporate into my Bujo….I’m just not sure what that looks like yet. I’ll keep you posted 😉
My social media milestones are somewhat oddly placed in here. To be honest, it was a one-off spur of the moment spread I decided to include for fun. I’ve already hit a few of them and it’s not even January yet. But I thought this would be nice to have for memories sake 🙂
The wish list is also another spread I have in here just for fun. Although, I think I’ll be utilizing post-it notes for this page. As the things I want are constantly changing. It’ll be nice to have though, I can’t tell you how many times someone has asked me what I want for my birthday or Christmas, and I have no idea 0.o Lets hope this spread helps with that.
Blog/YouTube Ideas – I think these spreads are fairly self-explanatory. Again, these will be spreads that I utilize post-it notes with, so that I’m not constantly running out of room and having to re-write them out elsewhere in my Bullet Journal.
This is something completely new for me. I’ve included a 8 week health/fitness challenge into my bullet journal. Currently I only have weeks 1-4 written out, because this is my first time trying out a spread like this. On the left hand page I’ve broken out my workout and my workout schedule. Alternating between strength training and yoga with my rest day being on Sunday’s. On the right hand page I’ve created three sections: Calories, Steps & Move. This will be my tracker for those 4 weeks, and I can see at a glance whether or not I’m meeting my goals.
Finally I have my Social Media tracker where I will write down my stats for Bujo Blog, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter each month. I’ve also included a section for income. Why? I don’t know. Because honestly my combined earnings from everything is less than $5/month. But who knows, maybe one day it will go up? If it does, it sure would be fun to track it (I’m a huge sucker for tracking things).
That’s it for now. You can watch the video of my 2017 Bullet Journal Flip Through below. I’ll be sure to post a January 2017 Set Up post and video as soon as I’m done those as well 🙂 In the mean time I hope I’ve been able to inspire you in setting up your Bullet Journal too!
